Credit Report

Credit Report

A credit report is a record of a consumer's credit history. Your credit report is one of your best resources in managing your finances and financial health.
Knowledge is power when you access your credit report
A good credit history can enable you to obtain credit and take advantage of opportunities.

A TransUnion Credit Report reflects important information from your credit providers that are TransUnion clients (such as banks and finance companies). Public records are another source of information. Businesses that are TransUnion clients are able to obtain this information (with consumer consent). This allows them to make fast and informed, reliable and objective decisions. It also enables them to approve loans and give credit to you within minutes.

Your credit history may include the following:

  • Account histories of your bill-paying record with credit grantors
  • Public records of items that may affect your creditworthiness, including bankruptcies and tax liens
  • Consumer statement of data in your credit history that you have disputed
  • Inquiries, which list the companies that have requested your credit history

The specific information in a consumer’s credit history may vary by country. Your TransUnion Credit Report does not contain information about your checking or savings accounts, medical history, race, gender, religion or national origin.

Anyone with a credit card or consumer loan should check their credit report regularly. TransUnion makes it easy and convenient to review and manage your credit report.

Enjoy these benefits by regularly reviewing your TransUnion Credit Report:

  • Make sure your credit report is accurate and up to date.
  • Know what is being reported about you by your credit providers.
  • Learn your credit score, which summarizes your credit report in a single number (not available in all countries).
  • Learn which credit providers have reviewed your credit report.
  • Spot potential identity theft and credit fraud early.
